Drs. Dan and Tyler Utley Offer Dental Imlants

Comfortable Dental Care in St. George

Smile, laugh and eat again with absolute confidence! If you are missing teeth and have experienced permanent dental implants, we think you will agree that they are one of the best dental technologies ever developed. Dental implants can get you back to enjoying life in ways that dentures and bridges never could and can replace single teeth so you would never know they are missing.

An implant acts as a substitute for the root of your missing tooth. The titanium fixtures bond to the bone in your mouth. These fixtures form a foundation for a replacement tooth that looks and feels just like your natural teeth. Implants have quickly become the most preferred method of tooth replacement. There are numerous advantages of dental implant treatment over traditional treatment options. For instance, it is not necessary to grind down the bordering or adjacent teeth for a bridge, or secure a partial denture to them with clasps that might eventually loosen the natural teeth. By utilizing titanium fixtures, people who are missing teeth may be spared the many problems associated with traditional false teeth.

When a tooth is lost, it is normal for the jaw ridge to shrink leaving a defect. Implanted fixtures actually help preserve the gum ridge and jaw bone density by providing the stimulation that was previously provided by the natural tooth roots. This helps maintain the integrity of facial structures.

Gum recession is not something you want to ignore. If you think your gums are receding, make an appointment with your dentist. There are treatments that can repair the gum and prevent further damage.

Comfortable Dentistry With Sedation

If you need to have dental work completed and feel anxious we recommend having sedation. At St. George Dental Care, we offer sedation dentistry for patients that would like to be more comfortable during their dental visit. We understand that for millions of adults, visiting the dentist can be an overwhelming or frightening experience due to dental anxiety. This common condition typically starts by a negative experience or becoming fearful of the general idea of dentistry. While common, you do not have to be concerned about visiting our office because our goal is to ensure you are comfortable.

When you schedule an appointment with Drs. Dan and Tyler Utley, let us know if you have dental anxiety so that we can prepare your visit accordingly. For many people, the actual procedure is not uncomfortable but it is the anxiety and worry that causes angst. With this in mind, we often prescribe an oral sedative or laughing gas that can be administered prior to the appointment to help a person relax. While this is not a pain killer, it eases the fear and relaxes the body so that you can remain peaceful while having teeth cleaned, or dental work performed. While the dosage is different, laughing gas can be used on both children and adults so that all of your St George patients can remain comfortable.
